Who Can Join

Understanding the Division

Postsecondary

Chapters at institutions offering degrees below the baccalaureate level (e.g., technical or community colleges with health programs).

Collegiate

Chapters at four-year institutions. A collegiate student is one seeking a baccalaureate degree.

The Postsecondary/Collegiate (PS/C) Division is for students enrolled in health science or biomedical programs at the college level — and they compete in their own division, separate from middle school and secondary members. HOSA has no individual memberships; students join through an affiliated chapter.

Getting Started

How to Start a Chapter

1

Secure an Advisor & Recruit 5+ Members

Find a faculty/staff member to serve as Chapter Advisor and gather at least five interested students (the national average chapter is ~30 — a great goal to grow toward).

2

Get Recognized by Your School

Complete your institution's process to become a registered student organization (bylaws, advisor, and university approval).

3

Submit the New Chapter Request

Complete Georgia HOSA's New Chapter Request Form so we can set you up and send official communications.

4

Receive Your Charter Number & Region

We'll send your charter number, password, and HOSA region assignment so you can add your founding members.

5

Log in to the Conference Management System (CMS), affiliate members and pay dues, elect officers, and start your year!
