Event Name:Whatever happened to polio?

Description of Event: Trip to Roosevelt Rehabilitation Center in Warm Springs, GA.
The Dutchtown HOSA organization toured the rehabilitation facilities and heard the history of how President Franklin D. Roosevelt founded the center and as a victim of polio used it himself. Several healthcare professionals spoke to our group about careers in medicine, nursing, and rehabilitation.

We toured the Smithsonian Institute’s Traveling Exhibit named “Whatever Happened To Polio?” Our HOSA students reported what they learned at the next month’s HOSA meeting.

Georgia HOSA is embarking on a new tradition for our new website!  We want to recognize the chapters that are active in their community by putting them on the Georgia HOSA Website; one every two weeks.  There is no requirement of what type of activity it may be, but it has to be involving your local chapter of HOSA. The event must have taken place during this school year, 2007-2008.
