What is it?
The Georgia CTSO Legislative Luncheon is sponsored by the 7 Georgia Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO's) and attended by Georgia's State Representatives and Senators along with VIP's from the Georgia Department of Education such as the State Superintendent.
The priorities of this luncheon are as follows:
- Protect and monitor the current Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education funding in the FY10 Supplemental and FY11 Budgets to ensure maintenance of current levels.
- Reinforce the role that Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education plays at the local level in the areas of workforce development and high school completion.
- Continue to seek additional monies for restoration of the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education supervision funding, extended day/year and industry certification.
- Continue to provide leadership and support for Career and Technical Student Organizations CTI, DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and TSA).
- Participate in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education as well as Career and Technical Student Organization activities to gain a better understanding of the programs and the benefits that they offer student members.
How can I attend?
Each CTSO gets a limited number of seats for this luncheon. The State Officers and Region Representatives get the first chance to book seats for their schools. Once they have booked seats for their schools we open it up to the membership.
Last year, the seats sold out within a few days. The seats are $30 each and are sold on a first come first served basis. Payment is due within 7 business days upon receiving confirmation of your booking. If payment is not received on the 7th business day, your seats will be released back into general sale.
ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE IN THE OFFICIAL HOSA UNIFORM TO ATTEND. This means blue blazers, with the HOSA patch, etc.
All ticket requests will be completed through the request form. The request form will be posted when details of this year's luncheon are released.
